Local Organizations
Arkansas Abortion Support Network
The Arkansas Abortion Support Network updates pro-choice supporters about Arkansas laws regarding reproductive rights. They also provide information about local marches and protests across the state. The Network also collects money to help fund abortions for those who need financial assistance.
Arkansas Governor
There are many ways pro-choice supporters and organizers can fight for reproductive rights. We encourage individuals to support their local organizations, write to government representatives and vote for politicians that defend reproductive rights.
As of now, women seeking an abortion in Arkansas must undergo mandatory counseling that includes information to discourage them from seeking an abortion. This counseling must be done in person. After receiving the mandatory counseling, women are required to wait an additional 72 hours and obtain an ultrasound before they can go through with the abortion. The use of telemedicine to obtain a medicated abortion is also illegal. Additionally, minors seeking an abortion must get permission from their guardians before doing so. All abortions must be completed prior to 22 weeks, unless it is a matter of life endangerment, incest or rape. Arkansas also places unnecessary restrictions and expectations on clinics, their staff and their equipment. If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the Supreme Court, then abortions in Arkansas will no longer be legal.
In the Legislature
As of January 22, 2022, Arkansas had no pending legislation regarding abortion and reproductive rights.
In the Courts
Currently, there are no pending court cases regarding abortion in Arkansas. However, Arkansas will ban abortions if Roe v. Wade is overturned. Please click HERE to tell about any information you may have.
