Theory of Writing

The audience I had in mind was myself, the instructor and the fellow students in our class. The reason is that they all will be reading this essay. As we all were in the same room and have been assigned the same assignment for few weeks, we all learned how to write better. However, some of us may not learned the things that I have learned or the other way around. Therefore, my job was to represent my theory of writing to my audience in the simplest format possible. I thought about what my classmates think when they read this essay, and I tried to keep the essay as simple. The process was very different from the previous essays because this essay is about me, about my theory of writing. In this essay, I was able to use my own language format rather than formal language we all used in the research report project. However, it was still different than Genre Recasting although the language format was informal. I developed to elaborate on my writing skills by writing this essay. Looking back and reading the reflections and blog postings helped me to improve and have an idea to write this essay. If we would not have done those, I think the process of this essay would have been a lot more difficult. After going through the reflection and the journals I wrote, I understood the improvement on my writing. Critical thinking was the utmost principle to demonstrate a developed skill when writing this essay. Therefore, I looked back at journal and reflections very carefully. I read them with the purpose in mind, and trying to find an answer. Additionally, the feedback from the instructor and peer review have helped me to recognize the principles of writing much better.
