Step 3: MidJourney Image AI
Visual Mood and Atmosphere Exploration
Visual Mood and Atmosphere Exploration
MidJourney was used as the image AI tool in the workflow to explore the visual mood and atmosphere of the Silent Transition Student Clubhouse. After developing the concept through ChatGPT, image generation was used to test how the concept could feel visually.
The purpose of this stage was not to create the final design. Instead, it helped explore soft daylight, shaded interior spaces, calm student areas, material atmosphere, and spatial character. The images supported the design direction by showing possible visual qualities connected to the concept of quiet transition.
The visual exploration helped me think about how students may experience the building, especially in spaces such as the lobby, MPH, design studio, and lounge areas. However, the images were used only as mood references, not as final architectural drawings.
Purpose:
To explore visual mood, lighting, materials, student spaces, and calm interior atmosphere.
Prompt 1:
“Modern student clubhouse in Malaysia, calm interior atmosphere, soft natural daylight, shaded walkways, curved arches, tropical greenery, warm materials, quiet study spaces, architectural visualization.”
Prompt 2:
“University student hub with transition from busy campus exterior to peaceful interior, arched corridors, natural ventilation, soft shadows, tropical climate, realistic architectural render.”
MidJourney generated visual references showing calm student spaces, soft lighting, shaded interiors, and warm architectural atmosphere. These images helped me understand how the Silent Transition concept could be expressed visually.
The generated images were not accepted as final design. I selected useful visual ideas such as soft daylight, calm interiors, and shaded spaces, then refined them through my own project drawings and diagrams.
