Macaque Monkey Monk

Fergus Furyfists, a Macaque monkey hailing from a line of seafaring traders, was raised on the deck of his father's ship, the Gilded Chain. He spent his youth learning the ways of the sea, initially believing in his father's trade of exotic spices. However, as he grew, he discovered the grim truth: the spice trade was merely a cover for the more lucrative and abhorrent business of animal-kind slavery. His father, a cruel and ambitious Chieftain, specialized in capturing and selling sentient beings, and this realization shattered Fergus’s world. His moral compass, sharpened by the quiet discipline of his monk training, couldn't reconcile with the cruelty he witnessed daily. This conflict came to a head in a furious, bone-shattering confrontation on the ship's quarterdeck. Fergus, using the agile and unorthodox style of fighting that would one day become his signature, defeated his father in a climactic duel. As a final act of rebellion and a symbol of his father's broken legacy, Fergus took his father's peg leg, fashioning it into his nunchucks, a weapon that now serves as a constant reminder of the fight for freedom. He left his father marooned on a desolate island, a fate he considered more merciful than the one his father dealt to countless others.

Now, Fergus sails with the Arcadian Order of Baeron, an underground network of animal-kind and plant-kind who have dedicated themselves to the liberation of all sentient beings. With his distinctive yellow pirate pants, black-striped and his matching bandana, he has become a symbol of defiance against tyranny. The nunchucks, made from the very symbol of his father's greed, are an extension of his will to protect the innocent. He seeks to undo the damage of his family's past and to be a beacon of hope for those who cannot fight for themselves, embodying the Order's principles of swift, decisive action and unwavering compassion.
