Parisian adventures

Since I have been quiet for a while now on this news page, I wanted to give a little update. This past semester was very busy, with a lot of time taken by a departmental committee in addition to my usual activities. I passed a very pleasant month of June in Paris, working with Karyn Le Hur on topics in quantum thermodynamics and engines. This gave me a much needed time away to think, do research, speak French, and see some of the city. On the right, you see me in one of the many Jardins de Versailles. I wish to thank the University of Rochester and the AS&E mobility grant for supporting this trip.

I was also able to see my European collaborators, and we finished a work on quantum Nernst engines, as well as wrote a review (mostly Bjoern's Sothmann's work).

We have some new but related ideas cooking, so hopefully I can post something about that sometime soon. I am also writing a paper with Karyn, that I also hope will soon be done.

We also have some good news about our preprint with the Siddiqi group that I will write about shortly in another post.
