CALL FOR AHS GOLDEN GRANT APPLICATIONS DUE SEPTEMBER 10, 2024

The Alexandria Historical Society (AHS) GOLDEN GRANTS are competitive awards to support historical research and interpretation projects relating to Alexandria and Northern Virginia history. Established to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of AHS, funds are available from the AHS Endowment Fund, which was established explicitly to support publications, awards, and grants. 

These grants support projects at all stages of development, from early planning to advanced implementation. Any research or interpretive project is eligible, including but not limited to:

Applicants should submit a brief statement (3-4 pages) outlining: 

The applicant(s) are encouraged to submit a CV or resume.

Grant applications should be sent to alexandriahistoricalsociety@gmail.com by September 10, 2024.

Grant awards can be up to a maximum of $2,000

Grant winners will be notified by October 1, 2024.

All AHS Golden Grant awardees should plan to complete their project/program by September 2025 and be prepared to provide a short (10-15 minute) public overview at an AHS meeting in Fall 2025.
