About Us

The Alexandria Historical Society promotes an active interest in American history, particularly Alexandria and the Washington metropolitan area.

Membership includes lectures by prominent speakers, publications relating to local history, and special events, including receptions and tours. In addition, members receive a ten percent discount in The Alexandria Shop at the Lyceum.

Our Newsletter, published six times per year, announces upcoming lectures, events and activities, as well as promotes Society business. Members are encouraged to submit articles to our publications.
