FLIPPED, a two - act modern comedy which opened Thursday will be presented wy the Mahanoy Area High School Senior Class tonight at 8 o'clock in the auditorium of the Senior High School. The comedy dealing with the Women's Lib Movement, is directed by Mrs. Edith Ann (Redclift) Dunsavage, English instructor.. Vague, but charming Christabelle Pendleton, discovers her college-age daughter, Niki, has joined the Female Liberation Idealist Party for Permanent Equality and Democracy. Afraid her temperamental husband will be furious, Christabelle asks her older daughters, Drusy and Gaby, to get Niki to resign but, instead, Niki talks her sisters into joining the group. There is a hilarious, conscientious rap session and a wild construction site demonstration when FLIPPED girls turn the tables on the hard hats. The big Liberation Day demonstration begins when FLIPPED is asked to stage a sit-in at the Kitten Club, owned by Gaby's husband. Their father forbids the girls to participate and their mother. demanding independence, joins FLIPPED too. The riotous riot at the club features Drusy's fiance and Niki's boyfriend who dressed as "kittens," wind up in a police raid. The comedy climaxes in a hearing at night court when the men learn to respect the girls' beliefs and the girls do likewise.
