A primary aim of Lesson Plan#2 is to facilitate students doing their own background research on the unit topic, to guide students to being independent learners, with a strong sense of agency- the sense that they are in control of their own learning and lives, able to independently learn any new topic and skill as the need arises.
While simply typing the unit topic into Google and hitting 'search' gets results, these are often of uneven quality.
To get better results:
Youtube- Go first to the Youtube home page ( https://www.youtube.com/) and enter the topic and grade into the search box. Or better yet, ask your students to do this.
Youtube Learning Junction( https://www.youtube.com/user/learningjunction): Educational videos for kids
