While a new Engine 1 is still in the design phase, we have made modification to both E2 and E1 to allow our new battery operated extrication tools to be deployed off of E2. When the replacement for Engine 1 arrives, the tools will be moved to it and the corded Hurst tools placed back on E2. Check out the new setup below.
The recently purchased Holmatro Pentheon Series tools and powered glass cutter have been mounted in E2 in the L3 cabinet (drivers side rear). Modifications were made to the pull out, a shelf removed and the Tilt-N-Deploy mounts bolted in. The electric fan and Honda generator have been moved to the R1 cabinet where the hydraulic Hurst tools used to be. The shelf in that cabinet was straightened and moved to accommodate the fan. Also temporarily located on the shelf in the R1 cabinet are the chargers for the Holmatro tools as well as the powered glass cutter. The new JYD struts are now located in the L2 (above the rear wheel well).
The battery chargers have been mounted in the L3 compartment. This allows the device pigtails to be plugged into the charger so both the on-tool battery and the spare battery are always ready to go. The pigtails are magnetically mounted so they are easy to disconnect during an emergency. When plugging them back in, the double grove slot must be aligned. To make this easier, a paint mark will be added to both the tool and the pigtail.

Engine 2 L3 compartment - showing the drawer pulled out and the pigtail cables tied but with enough room to access the tools.

Engine 2 R1 compartment - fan and generator (note orientation); chargers and extra batteries [UPDATED - the extrication tools have been moved to the L3 compartment]
Engine 2 L3 compartment - engineer's tools and fittings reduced to 1 shelf
Engine 2 L2 compartment - JYD struts, chainsaw and boom
The corded Hurst hydraulic tools are now mounted on E1 in the R1 compartment (rear of truck). The shelf there was removed and modified to allow the hydraulic cords to flow from the power unit on the slide-out to the tools on the shelf above it. The center of that shelf was cut to allow better access to the tools and 2 cord pockets were cut on either side. The chainsaws that were in R1 were moved to the R3 compartment .
