Invited Lecture

"Organocatalytic Asymmetric Epoxidation: from Methodology Development to Synthetic Application "

Alessandra Lattanzi earned her Master and PhD degrees from University of Rome "La Sapienza". In 1996 she was appointed Lecturer at University of Salerno. As a visiting scientist she joined the groups of prof. V. K. Aggarwal at University of Sheffield (UK, 1999-2000) and Dr. N. E. Leadbeater at King's College in London (2001). In 2005 she was promoted to Associate Professor and in 2019 as Full Professor of Organic Chemistry. Her research interests are in the areas of i) asymmetric (one-pot) organocatalysis, with a focus on the synthesis of small to medium heterocyclic compounds containing oxygen, nitrogen and sulfur atoms; ii) stereoselective metal- and organocatalysed oxidations of alkenes and sulfur-containing compounds. She published over 140 papers including invited contributions for special issues and reviews in international journals and more than 10 book chapters. She had been a member of the European COST Action CM0905 (Organocatalysis).
