"Selective Hydroxylation of C-H Bonds in Aqueous Media Based on Catch-and-Release Strategy"

Takahiko Kojima was born in Nagoya, Japan, in 1962 and earned a bachelor’s degree and Ph.D. degree in coordination chemistry at The University of Tokyo in 1986 and 1991, respectively. After working as a postdoctoral associate in Prof. Lawrence Que, Jr.’s group at University of Minnesota in USA, he became an assistant professor of Chemistry Department in Kyushu University in 1994. He moved to Department of Material and Life Science, Osaka University, as an associate professor of Prof. Shunichi Fukuzumi’s group in 2005. Since 2008, he has been serving as a full professor of Department of Chemistry, University of Tsukuba. His research interest includes proton-coupled electron transfer in metal complexes, artificial photosynthesis, redox and photochemical reactivity of nonplanar porphyrinoids.
