About Across
Launched in January 2026, Across is a dedicated Japanese localization service focused primarily on indie games. Our services extend beyond mere text translation to include website localization and on-device testing to ensure font legibility and visual optimization.
In Japan, where the English-speaking population remains limited, many players are forced to abandon games that lack Japanese language support. However, Japanese gamers—backed by a deep-rooted gaming culture—are constantly searching for new experiences. Across was established to bridge this gap and deliver the true charm of your games to these eager players.

Both the Activity Log and Translation Notes are available in both English and Japanese. While the English versions are translated from the original Japanese, many of the articles were first written in my own words in Japanese. If they can provide even a little bit of insight or reference for you, I would be very happy.
Nuanced Manual Translation: I move beyond literal word-for-word conversion. I tailor every line to fit the character's personality, emotional state, and the specific context of the scene, ensuring the most natural Japanese phrasing.
Transparent Translation Logic: Upon request, I can provide detailed notes within the translation files explaining the reasoning behind specific phrasing and how it differs from (or improves upon) machine translation.
In-Game LQA (Linguistic Quality Assurance): I don't just translate text in a spreadsheet. I perform hands-on testing to check for text overflows, font legibility, and contextual consistency within the actual game environment.
Bug Reporting & Feedback: As an optional service, I provide reports on any bugs or UI/UX issues discovered during my playtests to help improve the overall polish of your title.
