a special sport and tourism program in English and German
Since 1980, the Sports Association "Discesa Internazionale del Tevere" has organized one of the most important paddle sports events in Europe: the International Descent of the Tiber river. The Association also organizes kayak, open canoe and river sup courses, aimed at running up to class 3 rivers and at providing assistance to paddlers on class 2 rivers.
In October 2023 the Association, with his master guide Andrea Ricci, has organized a first river sup course in English on Adige river in Verona region, with foreign participants, culminating with the spectacular crossing of the city of Verona by sup. Succesfully accomplished, the course is planned every year since then.

Our base camp is in a well-known canoe club near the river. The historic village of Pescantina is just 5 minutes walk away. The canoe club has everything you could wish for: the headquarters is new, the parking is large, the hostel is well equipped, with dormitories, bathrooms, kitchens, changing rooms. The river is just a few meters distance on foot.
We have theoretical and practical lessons, with theory in the classroom or on land, and practice in the water.
We sleep in mixed dormitories. To eat, everyone can choose what to do: we have a fully equipped kitchen, but we will also suggest places to enjoy Italian cuisine, pizza, artisanal ice cream. In the village there are also a farmers market and an organic products shop.
All participants (maximum number of participants: 8) are required to have:
a good command of the sup in open waters (sea, lake)
a good confidence in swimming in deep water
a medical certificate on their good health for non-competitive water sports activities (can be done on site)
River Sup Beginners and Practitioners, to learn or strenghten skills and knowledge
River Sup Enthusiasts, to enjoy company, exercises, river runs
