Colour, line, Boundaries.
A collaborative work involving Simon Feather (website) an artist who works with abstract imagery and Tom Scott a time based media artist.
The collaboration is based upon ideas of colour fields, line and boundaries observed in our artwork and our local environment of the Thames estuary. The artists are engaged in a dialogue via conversations and each individual's particular practice.

These two images illustrate the different directions Tom and Simon are engaged in, Tom a very dynamic visual perspective, Simon exploring notions of flat colour space, both dealing with the estuary. So yeah, things are progressing and developing.

Three months of meeting up and we're getting somewhere in terms of colour just about worked that out, see the four images below, and in turn the fields are created, furthermore the line idea has also been developed. These activities mediated via the series of paintings in which details are drawn out for the next meet up via macro photography. The next stage is the video / animation development on my part and Simon to progress the paintings.
The video is composed of a number of images sourced from paintings made by Simon and Tom. It illustrates some interesting textures and gives some idea of movement.
