I believe you should treat your neighbor the way you want to be treated. I believe in compassion before judgement. As a teacher and coach, I think it is vitally important that we treat all of our students the same way we would want our own children or family members to be treated. This video shows the infectious power that being kind or helping others can have. It is a pretty long but shows how nice and empowering it is to do simple acts for one another. I believe any team or school can mirror this, creating a community of caring, kind individuals. Compassion, kindness and just lending a helping hand goes a long way in creating a culture of success and inclusion.
Love and belief in one's self, I believe is one of the greatest barriers to success. I've had a long journey to this point. I've worked a lot of jobs, some good and some bad, but finally wound up somewhere I feel very strongly about. Jim Carrey's speech about pursuing what you love is more than inspirational, it is wise and connects on a deeper level. His insight on self love and belief has value no matter who you are or what you do. "The effect you have on others, is the most valuable currency there is". .. This speaks to the very reason I want to teach and coach. Ditching fear at the door and finding ways to deal with failures and barriers are a part of life and can only help us grow into the successful person we want to be.
We constantly are looking for ways to better our lives. Technology has impacted all of our lives and will continue to. It is important we find ways to use technology as a tool in new and exciting ways to better our lives and experiences. As educators, we are constantly looking for ways to keep our students engaged and help them reach new levels. It is no different in a P.E. classroom. Technology offers us new innovative ways to ensure each student is getting they work they need as individuals to better their fitness. Everyone is different and no 2 students physical fitness levels are the same.

Failure is learning. We can not fear failure or we will impede on progress towards success. Failing is an essential part of learning and a growth mindset. If we have goals, we should not fear going for those goals and the process to get there. This video is from David Goggins who in my opinion is an amazing motivator and someone who faced many failures to become successful. He has mastered his mindset and explains how failure isn't an obstacle, but in many cases it's necessary and an opportunity.
There are lot of videos about happiness and joy. It is something some of us may lose sight in but something we should all strive for. Having joy in something is important for us, gives purpose. This is a quick video, but I think an important message... the joy in teaching, joy in the little things, joy in the process. Life will always present difficulties and as educators we will encounter many. But we can't lose sight on our purpose as mentors and leaders.
