Simmons Cup
The Simmons Cup originates from earlier traditions such as Track Day, Field Day, and Spring Spree. By the early 2000s, The Simmons Cup had become an annual tradition during which individual residence halls paired with local fraternities competed against the other dormitories. Teams participated in relay races, volleyball games, and other competitions throughout the day. The team with the most accumulated points by the end of the day was awarded The Cup. This tradition later evolved into Shark Week.
