The 54 Pilgrim Road Project
Dix Hall, Simmons Hall, and Morse Hall
Both Dix Hall and Morse Hall were built in 1953, and Simmons Hall was built in 1956. Dix Hall is named for reformer Dorothea Lynde Dix, whose $50,000 trust was provided to Simmons College by her trustee, Horatio Lamb. Lamb was the first treasurer of Simmons College. Morse Hall is named for Frances Rollins Morse, another reformer who served as a charter member of the Corporation from 1902 until 1992.
