I am Laura Steinbrink, currently employed by the Plato R-V School District in Plato, Missouri where I am the: District Webmaster, District Communications Director, PLC Team Facilitator, District K-12 Tech Integration Coach (for one period a day), High School English Teacher, Yearbook Adviser, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Sponsor, and Assistant Softball Coach. I love professional development, so I present technology integration at workshops in my area, state, and nationally.
I am the author of the RockNTheBoat blog, and I have been published by Go Pollock where I discuss strategies to build buy in and grow PLC s. I have written a guest post for Denis Sheeran, author of Instant Relevance and Hacking Mathematics: 10 Problems That Need Solving. I also have co-authored a blog post with Matt Miller, author of Ditch That Textbook and co-author of Ditch That Homework, host of the Ditch that Textbook podcast, and co-host of the Google Teacher Tribe podcast.
In my spare time, I sing in a local contemporary Christian band, ONE, who not only performs concerts, charity events for kids, for churches, camps, fairs, and school events, but we also have performed at Silver Dollar City's Young Christian's Weekend the last four years, and we are scheduled to open for Hawk Nelson on July 28th.
I am also a double first cousin, three times removed, of Laura Ingalls Wilder, which is the technical way to say my grandpa's dad was her first cousin. My great great grandparents were her aunt and uncle, Peter & Eliza Ingalls. (The "double cousin is due to the fact I am related on the Quiner & Ingalls side.) That means writing (and teaching are fun) and perhaps a must in my family.
