Kimberly Isham

Born and raised in Greenville, Texas, I am one of a handful of Texans in this family of educators.

I spent my first five years teaching First Graders, then I became a Reading Recovery teacher working with struggling readers. I followed that up by earning my Masters degree and my Reading Specialist Certification. When I changed districts, I took a position teaching Third Graders which I held until moving into the Reading Specialist position on our campus. I currently work with small groups of K-5th graders, serve as our campus UIL coordinator, and serve on our Innovate team helping provide support and PD for our district staff.

I am a wife, mother to two handsome young men, Nana to a 4 year old grandson, and a member of our Praise Team at our church. Reading and learning are my passions!

My journey to becoming a connected educator started with a nudge from a friend to join Twitter for PD. I slowly started participating in Twitter chats which were invigorating! I often heard people talk about finding their "tribe". I honestly thought I was there until I joined a Voxer book study for The Four O'clock Faculty by Rich Czyz in January 2018. The support and encouragement I found with the #4OCFpln was tempered with just the right amount of challenge and push back that I needed to grow! Since becoming a part of this passionate group of educators, I have stepped even further outside of my comfort zone to where real learning happens. The #4OCFpln has grown into an amazing family that I enjoy interacting with every day. I found my "tribe"!
