Life is about choices… CHOOSE POSITIVE! I am a proud mother of 2 amazing sons Trent, age 15 and Jack, age 12. I have always believed that being a mother has created a better teacher within me and being a teacher has by far made me a better mother. My incredibly supportive husband, Eric, of 18 years supports me as I passionately push education forward. Although my education has been a solid foundation to my teaching, being the mother of a child with OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, by far supersedes anything that I ever learned in the classroom.

After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Elementary Education (with an emphasis in Emotional Support) I started my career in Learning Support then moved into the regular classroom teaching 3rd grade at Hopewell Elementary, HASD, in Aliquippa, PA for the last 21 years. I am a dreamer…an optimist… a disruptor in education! My mantra is empowerment at all ages. I believe empowering students to make decisions builds strong character and I instill this with T.R.U.E G.R.I.T. As I continue to push the boundaries of my students learning, as well as my own, I take great pride in being the recipient of the 2017 Week 1 Steeler Chevron Leader in the Classroom for innovative practices.
