Girl Scout Troop 30197 began in 2008 and is still going strong! The young ladies on this page were once girl members of the troop. If you know of a girl member who is now a high school graduate and is not listed on this page, please let us know so that we can honor her too! We look forward to hearing from our Alum Girl Scouts!
Once a Girl Scout, Always a Girl Scout!
Throughout Girl Scouts I was able to perform tasks and bring out my creative side. I was also presented with the opportunity to meet some wonderful fellow scouts that I am still friends with till this day! I will be forever thankful for my Girl Scout days! ~FG
Because of my time in Girl Scouts, I am able to easily learn about and appreciate cultures of other countries even as an adult. When I was a Girl Scout, my entire troop earned a badge for which we were taught about
different countries and their cultures. These activities are what sparked my interest early on in other countries and their cultural differences, and because of this, I now frequently find myself being more open minded to
ideas, cuisine, and media from other countries, particularly Asian countries such as Japan where the differences lie not only in culture but in language as well. Because of my time as a Girl Scout, I have become much more appreciative of the world around me beyond myself. ~AJ
My experience in Girl Scouts was just the enrichment I needed in my early life. Troop 30197 was a group of friends that helped me grow and learn skills that are valued in the real world such as team building, cooperation, learning how to ask for help, taking initiative, and creating road maps on how to achieve personal goals. My time in Girl Scouts is looked back upon very fondly. I remember the feeling of reaching cookie sales goals with my troop, or the trips we took together, and the excitement of walking into a new meeting every week. Girl Scouts is such a unique experience that I believe every girl should have when they are younger and I couldn’t think of a better troop to experience it with! ~AW
Girl Scouts was a huge part of my foundational years and looking back it really helped me develop the leadership and interpersonal skills that I still rely on today. Girl Scouts also helped me form friendships that I really needed as a young girl, many of which taught me what it means to be a true friend. ~JW
Hi, my name is Heather and I was a Girl Scout 10 years ago. I was in Girl Scouts for 4 years from when I was in kindergarten up until 3rd grade. While I was in Girl Scouts, I learned a lot of good life lessons and how to be a great leader and person! I learned how to help people and my community whether it was helping out at the food bank, selling cookies, or even one year for my birthday, I donated food and supplies for the animal shelter! I learned communication skills and how to work as a team. After Girl Scouts I went and became an active FFA member for all 4 years of high school for the South Effingham FFA chapter. I used my leadership and teamwork skills from Girl Scouts in FFA and I used my communication skills in CDE events and going to rallies, conventions, and conferences in Georgia. Overall, Girl Scouts is a great organization to be in and it empowers young women every day! GIRL POWER! ~ HL
My Girl Scout experience was different compared to other troops. I was a part of a small, loving, and honorable group of girls. Girl Scouts is known for selling cookies and camping together on the weekends, but it truly means so much more. I learned not only how to be creative, but how to engage with the world around me. I explored different aspects of life whether it be basic skills, how to connect with people, appreciate nature, and always take action. I still use each and every thing I learned from my troop leader throughout my daily activities. While my time with this troop was short, some of the people I shared these experiences with are still some of my life long friends today. As I go onto bigger things in my life, I will always remember the memories, lessons, and new perspectives of life that I gained from troop 30197
