If you have many Far South PBXs in the field that you're n ow wanting to convert into Far South 3CX PBX Appliances, you'll likely to be pleased to hear that 3CX has developed a configuration converter, allowing you to upload your old FreePBX configuration to the Far South 3CX PBX Appliance, significantly reducing the setup time of the system, as well as the down time on site.
The 3CX site explaining this tool is available here. It contains a detailed description of the process of converting the configuration of a generic FreePBX install . although the instructions on this page will focus on the conversion process as it is applies specifically to Far South Networks PBXS configurations.
Limitations
Before we get started, it is important to know the limitations of this tool, so that technicians can better plan their customers' upgrades.
The conversion tool supports only backups take from FreePBX 12, 13 and 14. This means that only 1.5 Far South Networks PBX systems are eligible for the config conversion.
Of the advanced call destinations ( IVRS, queues, etc) only IVRs are supported. Unfortunately queues , ring groups and other advanced destinations will need to be configured from scratch. IVRs, IVR options and recordings are preserved by the configuration tool.
Though extensions are supported by the conversion tool, associations to managed SIP phones will need to be configured and phones on site will need to be directed to the new autoprovisioning server.
