2 Peter 1:12-21
Prophecy of Scripture
12 So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. 13 I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body, 14 because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. 15 And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things.
16 For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” 18 We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain.
19 We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:26-28
Man and Woman are Made In the Image of God
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
Majestic Randomness...For me there is no majesty or honor or glory or anything majestic in randomness...There just is none...To believe that one's author of life is randomness, then I see neither glory or honor...I see no point in anyone’s life story if their majesty is the majesty of randomness and they are here by mere chance...A random life is a life filled with nothingness. ..It is a life filled with no meaning...
The Bible from the very start tells us that we are made in the Image of God...And that we are not here by any other reason, other than God...
And St. Peter writes just the opposite of randomness and basically says we are not driven by randomness...We are not driven by mere chance and randomness, if we believe in the One he and His Disciples were an eyewitness to...For Peter and the Disciples did not follow cleverly devised stories when they told us about the coming of our LORD Jesus Christ in power, but they were eyewitnesses to His Majesty...The Disciples saw Him and knew Him and listened to His teachings about God and the eternities...We can see the honor and the glory of the One who believes in justice, who believes in righteousness, who believes in goodness...
