Our home can be one of the safest and nurturing places here on earth. It is a place where we learn, labor and also love. But did you know that we as Catholics can also find home and refuge in the One True Church? Our Catholic faith. As we have read in the scriptures, we are invited to act accordingly – to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth. We are members of this household, the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. But sadly, because of the heavy challenges and storms that our Church has faced in the past centuries, there are more people who seem to stray away from Catholicism. Others even to such an extent that they have hated and misinterpreted the Church due to false information and wrong perceptions. As convicted Catholics, we have to place great importance in our faith and share it with others. 

One of the ways for us to strengthen our love for the One True Church is by inviting those around us to embrace the Catholic faith. Here are some things we can keep in mind so we can help others be brought closer to our one true Home. 

Prayer is our best tool and weapon.

Always remember that it is God’s grace that changes any person’s heart. Apart from our relationship with Jesus, we will miss the whole point of evangelization. Let us make it a point to ask God to always give us the opportunity to evangelize our fellow brothers and sisters.

Place importance in studying and knowing the faith.

We can only share that which we have first received. If we ourselves are confused in some teachings of the faith, it can also lead others to doubt as well. It would be a good practice to learn and spend time studying the faith by attending teachings, watching good Catholic content and reading more about the faith. 

Presence can be our way of preaching. 

The work of evangelization is not an overnight project. Being witnesses of joy and love in our daily lives is one of the best ways that we can truly inspire others to come back to the faith. It can be through the little mundane moments when we talk about the faith to our family and friends. By trying to enlighten them with their questions in a non-defensive or arrogant way, offering to pray for their concerns, or even constantly persevering in inviting them to Catholic activities especially attending the Holy Mass, they sometimes eventually find their way back to the faith. These are simple ways on how we can plant seeds of faith in their hearts. 

It can be intimidating to bring others back to the Church in our post-Christian time but the good news is that Catholicism is and will always remain true and relevant.  We will never be on the wrong side as we strive to bring all God's children back together. In God’s perfect time, may we all become of one heart and mind within the Catholic Church, our Home.
