Do you consider the Catholic Church a home? A place of comfort and love?

Ephesians 2:19-22 

So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone. Through him the whole structure is held together and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord; in him you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

The Catholic Church is a home for everyone from all walks of life. It has been founded on the unwavering love of Christ and has been passed on to the apostles through the firmness of our faith all these years. It is the one and only Church that came form Jesus more than 2000 years ago. It is indeed a home to many Catholics all over the world. 

A home is where we find comfort and care. We are also guided and taught of how we should live our lives. In the Catholic Church, we also find a mother and teacher. The Church as our mother provides us with the grace of sacraments which Jesus himself instituted for our benefit. To receive the sacraments, the Church guides us to have the right disposition so that it may truly bear fruit in our lives. Every stage of our life the Church journeys with us and sustains us. 

The Catholic Church is also our teacher. Through its authority, it guides the way we are to know and live out the truth of being followers of Jesus. As a mother she teaches the truth to us and helps us to embrace it for our good. Her goal is for us to be saved through her announcements of moral truths. 

The challenge for us is to be actively involved in the life and mission of the Catholic Church. Id the Church is truly our Home, we will do everything and anything to get to know, love and defend it. As Catholics, may we always live our lives the way our Catholic Church teaches us.

Bring our families closer to the Church by committing to attend mass every Sunday with the whole family.
