I. Introduction

Brace yourselves because there is an ongoing surge of evil in our society. We are in the midst of a great cultural war, the culture of death vs the culture of life. The devil is wreaking havoc to destroy marriage, family, and life. We can see and feel that the prophecy of Sr. Lucia, one of the visionaries of Our Lady of Fatima, is happening. She said that “a time will come when the decisive battle between the kingdom of Christ and Satan will be over marriage and the family”. 

We in MFC are exhorted to be holy warriors. Firm in our faith in God’s truth and goodness and founded on God’s love and charity. We are to embrace our conviction in defending faith, family, and life in these crucial times.

II. Truth about Human Sexuality

The Church is modeled after Christ and works to share the truth and spread love throughout the world. We must take time to understand why the Church teaches what it does about human sexuality. Unfortunately, there is much confusion today among Catholics regarding the teaching of the Catholic Church on homosexuality.  Much of this is due to agitation by LGBTQ groups falsely presenting themselves as teachers of true Catholic morality, and some are due to ambiguous teachings from Church leadership.

Let us remember that the mission of the Church is not to control our lives but to guide us in our journey toward heaven. Let us, therefore, embrace God’s truths:

a. There are only two sexes

It is written in Genesis 1:27 that God created only man and woman. LGBTQ groups created many genders. It is a social construct, and it can change over time, and it depends on their preferences. God’s plan is precise and clear. 

b. Homosexuality is contrary to nature.

The teaching of the Catholic Church on homosexuality has always been clear. Tradition has always declared that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered. The Church teaches that these acts are contrary to God’s design because it closes the sexual act to the gift of life. 

c. Homosexual acts is a sin.

While the Church teaches that homosexual acts are immoral, she does distinguish between engaging in homosexual acts and having a homosexual inclination. Same-sex attraction is not a sin.  Acting on the inclination makes it sinful. Any sexual act that takes place outside the bond of marriage does not fulfill the proper ends of human sexuality.

In the New Testament, St. Paul teaches that homosexual acts are not in keeping with our being created in God’s image and so degrade and undermine our authentic dignity as human beings. He tells how homosexual practices can arise among people who erroneously worship the creature rather than the Creator. 

III. Lies of Gender Ideology

Our call as Christians is to accept and embrace God’s plan for our lives. It is always for our good importantly about our sexuality. Our catechism tells us that “every man and woman should acknowledge and accept his sexual identity. it is oriented towards the goods of marriage and the flourishing of family life” – CCC 2333

Nowadays there is a rampant disorientation about God’s design. The disorientation regarding human anthropology, which is a widespread feature of our cultural landscape, has undoubtedly helped to destabilize marriage and family as an institution. Evil uses ideology to radically attack the family. One of which is gender ideology. 

Gender ideology denies the difference and reciprocity in the nature of a man and a woman and sees a society without sexual differences, thereby eliminating the anthropological basis of the family. It promotes a personal identity and emotional intimacy radically separated from the biological differences between males and females. Gender identity becomes a choice of the individual. One which can change over time. Here are some lies that the devil is using to sow confusion in everyone.

a. Homosexuality is normal and healthy. 

This lifestyle is not part of God’s design for man and woman. Everyone is called to a life of holiness. Apart from God’s design, we are not fulfilling His will.

b. “Who am I to judge?”

We can read Luke 6:37. It is not about judging but about being judgmental. We can judge situations of moral wrong but not judge motives and inner disposition. 

c. Disapproval of homosexuality due to homophobia

As Catholics are conviction is to hate the sin and not the sinner. We do not want people to be away from God because of sinful lifestyles. We help one another in our pursuit of heaven.

d. Transwomen are women

Transgender ideology is making waves in Western culture. Trans activists are asserting that people have a female or male sex, which is innate and unchangeable, and a “gender,” the sex that one “identifies” as. Science teaches us that there are only two sex chromosomes and God teaches us that there are only two sexes, male and female.

e. Love wins

Many LGBTQ groups use love differently. Love is not compatible with sinning. Homosexual sex is not love at all. 

IV. Response

a. Preach the truth.

1. Gender Ideology aims to brainwash us so that we will embrace the culture. Be always vigilant in any actions of the enemy that is why as Holy warriors we need to always proclaim the truth. Share with your families the truth and beauty of human sexuality. Expose the lies of the enemy. 

2. Know the authentic teachings regarding human sexuality. There are clerics and lay leaders who are distorting traditional Church teachings to suit their agenda in propagating gender ideologies.

3. Be a pro-life missionary. Let us share with everyone what is true, good, and beautiful about God’s plan for family and life. Let us seek ways how we can preach the Gospel of Life in parishes and public institutions. 

4. Let us proclaim the truth that people with Homosexual tendencies are called to a life of Chastity and Holiness. We must not discriminate them but we must journey with them towards conversion in Christ.

b. Protect the family.

1. Let us refuse to go along with this madness. Protect our families by instilling in them the truth about gender ideology. Let us not use the term “gender” but use “sex”. Let us not affirm their lifestyle by using their preferred pronouns. 

2. Let us read and check the books from the school of our children. The enemy is using education to promote their ideologies. 

3. Social media plays an important role in shaping the mind of the young. Let us be intentional in raising strong young Christian men and women. Let us be vigilant in what we watch and see in social media apps.

4. For family members who are engaging in homosexual acts. We must connect to correct that aims conversion n Christ. We must hate the sin and not the sinner. Seeking for God’s grace to tell the truth out of love. 

V. Conclusion

Gender ideology is a rebellion against God. Why? Because man does not accept that he is created as a man and woman. It is an abuse of God-given freedom. This ideology calls itself progressive, but it is nothing else than the ancient serpent's offer, for man to take control, to replace God.

This ideology seeks to destroy faith, family, and life. The solution to all of these is evangelization and conversion. Let us empower everyone to live Christ’s teachings and share His words and deeds with our families.

How will you journey with a friend or family member who is engaging into homosexual acts towards Chastity and Holiness?
