1st Harpenden send information via email for most communications. Email addresses of our parents are stored in OSM.

When sending one email to the parents of more than one young person we need to keep their email addresses private, so please either send the email via OSM which will automatically use the 'BCC' address field, or use the 'BCC' address field when sending the email from your normal email provider.

To send an email from OSM: Login to your section in OSM, go to Members - Personal Details, select the members, click Send Email.

For sharing of information quickly we tend to use WhatsApp. Each of the sections has a separate WhatsApp group, please contact your leaders to join.

Please only use these WhatsApp groups for Scouting purposes.

Harpenden & Wheathampstead District Scouts have WhatsApp groups, see the section further down.

Facebook Groups: We have Facebook Groups to share photos and videos of activities: Facebook. These groups are PRIVATE, meaning they have restricted access. The Admins are the Section Leaders and the Group Scout Leader.

Facebook Page: We have one FaceBook page for the whole 1st Harpenden Scout Group. This page is PUBLIC and we need specific written permission to post photos/videos of members onto this page. The Admin is Andy Wrentmore, the Group Scout Leader.

Twitter: We have a twitter account for Scouts but this is not used much. @1stHarpenden

We have a Kahoot account for creating and running online quizzes. See the DropBox folder in 'Group Matters>Kahoot'.
