GROUP NEWS

HM The Queen was the Patron of Scouts, we’re deeply saddened and share our condolences at the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this sad time.

Throughout her reign, she was an avid supporter of Scouts in the United Kingdom, across The Commonwealth and around the world.

Rest in peace, it's time to Go Home. Thank you for all your years of service.

Scouts bounce back with biggest growth for 80 years

“It’s great to see young people returning to Scouting in their thousands and making new friends, learning new skills, and helping their communities rebuild after COVID-19.

“Volunteering with Scouts is very rewarding, fun and good for you.

For anyone wanting to meet new people and learn new skills, I’d encourage you to volunteer with the Scouts. “We have a range of roles available - from running activities for young people at a weekly meeting through to helping maintain Scout Group buildings a couple of times year.

Whatever you want to do we have a volunteering role for you.”

Thank you to all the young people for supporting the Porchlight event. I would also like to thank ALL the leaders that made it happen.

EXPLORERS HOBO SLEEPOVER

On Friday 10th March the Explorersand some scouts had a sleepover in cardoard boxes to experience that the homeless people have to indure in all weathers, they where luck that it was quite mild for them. Well done.

On the 17th the Explorers went to help serve the homeless that attend the reform Church hall where Pam Jones runs "Action on Homelessness in Folkestone" , food is donated by several Supermarkets and businesses in the town. The Explorers also contributed with goodies and two tents where donated to her.

I thought that his year’s charity to help the community could be “Pam's Action for the homeless”. We are asking if each child / young person could each week bring a can (beans, corned beef, tomatoes, chicken soups, cans of food, stews, etc.) anything that a family in need could get in a carrier bag full of food and home essentials for a week or two, Pam gets calls from family that haven't got enough to feed their families so she also is trying to get a food bank going and here is where we could help her. In the hut we will have a create where all these donations will be put and when we have filled one/two we will take it down to her. Thank you for your support on this. Jacquie

this is what Pam Jones wrote on her facebook:
