Moving on to Scouts (Linking)

Moving up to Scouts (Linking)

Moving on to Scouts is a really exciting time, but you might also feel a little sad about saying farewell to some of your fellow Cubs. This is an understandable reaction to change and it’s okay to feel nervous and unsure. Your Cub leader will support you every step of the way. In the run up to your last night at Cubs, the Cub leader will talk to your new Scout leader – who you may have already met during joint activities. Together, they’ll do all they can to help make the move as easy as possible for you. Although most Cubs make the move up to Scouts when they’re 10 ½ or just slightly older, your Cub leader will bear your personal situation in mind, and make sure you only move on when you’re ready. They’ll also have a think about when your friends are moving on, and time things so that you can start your new adventure together where possible.

What does this mean to you?

You carry on going to Cubs on a Thursday evening for about another 4-5 weeks and also go to Scouts on a Friday evening to see how you enjoy it. After the end of the 4-5 weeks or before you should know whether you would like to join the Scout Troop and this is the time to purchase your Scout shirt ready for you to be invested into the Scout Section.

What we doing at Scouts

So you can see what the Scouts are doing in the coming weeks by visiting the 'Scout Programme' on this website.

We only use Facebook to show parents what we have done and occasional reminders.

Scouts continue on with a Balanced Programme, Awards and Badge system, expand on the Cubs knowledge and skills they have learnt.

Young people enjoy challenges that the Scouting Movement can offer and widens their experiences.
