Chapters 16-18 Analysis:

When Julia and Winston are invited into O’Briens home they recognize how nice it was compared to what they're used to seeing. By having O’Briens home in the story line it shows a great representation of high class and lower class. Considering O’Briens works for the inner party he is granted with privileges others aren't. The people of the lower class aren't allowed to have fancy foods such as oranges or fruits, while those from the inner party are granted all they'd like. This is a reflection on society as a whole, where money and the things you can have are determined by class, who you know, and how much money you make. Even when only the inner members of the party are allowed to turn off the telescreen shows not only discrimination but that they are free of thought. Others among Oceania are deprived of having their own thoughts and must live and think by the rules of Big Brother. While those of the inner party can have those moments of free self mind. 

Hate week was a big part of Oceania. It resembles the rules of society being taken over. How quickly one part of history could be changed to the next. The idea of being able to change the course of history and everyone's belief. It resembles a big icon everyone looks up to changing their views everyone follows. Changing everyone's opinion without even knowing why they're for or against something besides society telling them.
