Mary Anderson was born in February 19th of 1866 in the County of Greene, United States
She was an american inmobiliary developer, farmer and viticulturist , she was the inventor of the windscreen wiper.
When his father died she move to the city of Birmingham with her mother and her sister in 1889. In this city she helped in its rebuilding after the civil war raising different buildings as apartments. A short time later he moved to live in California where he managed a cattle farm and vineyards.
But in 1902 she had a march in Birmingham, which meant "an eccentric" and " she had to be put in his room" 17 large and heavy wooden logs. When the aunt died inside the trunks jewelry and gold appeared, which left the family in an unbeatable financial situation.
Anderson resided in Birmingham, where She continued to manage the Fairmont apartments until his death at the age of 87. At the time of his death, she was the oldest member of South Highland Presbyterian Church. She died at his summer home in Monteagle, Tennessee. Her funeral was held by Dr. Frank A in South Highland and she was buried in Elmwood Cemetery.
She died in June 27th of 1953 in Monteagle, United States.
One day after the first trip to New York a diagram of the elementary scanning device. And back in Alabama, she began to think of it. That year, she obtained the patent for a simple design that consisted of a lever inside the vehicle that moved a rubber blade on the outside, over the windshield, with a spring that allowed it to return to its original position. At that time, other windshield wiper designs already exist, but María's model is the first design that worked properly.
In 1904, he got a sturdy rubber sheet and attached it to a glass by means of springs. Engineered a connection to be able to operate it from the inside by means of a lever. When it was pulled, the sheets would move through the glass again and again to the original position, as is the case with the more conventional ones, although the difference is based on the location and the number of arms. Her system had a single arm held at the top and center of the glass. After making several preliminary designs, she tried it herself, but not in a car but in a tram. This is the reason why registrants are scammers. Especially when she was overwhelmed by the warnings of his relatives and the rejections of specialists in the automotive industry, who took advantage of the movement of windshield wipers and caused accidents. In the midst of his fight to get the patent on stage Henry Ford, who took contact with this invention, apparently, unrelated to Anderson. True to its innovative destiny, it interpreted its usefulness, which initially proved on the Ford T with windshields.
In 1905, a force of tests passed, the patent is recognized. Later, from 1908, all Fords came out with this device. And since 1916 it was common equipment in all American automobiles. The researchers confirmed that this woman was 39 years old when she invented it and did not use her creation to obtain benefits.
