"an ode to time"
Logan is an artist from St. Louis, MO and Austin, TX who enjoys making playlists and going thrifting. Water is both a source of grounding and inspiration for her, so the lakefront is one of her favorite spots to visit in Evanston. She has recently tapped into the local gem that is EPL and is grateful to have found such a warm and welcoming space. Logan is studying to become a scholar in Black studies. She cares deeply about her loved ones and her community.
too fast
too slow
never enough, yet
somehow always too much.
you see, I have a love/hate relationship with you.
days pass/nights wane
leaves fall/snowflakes flurry
winds blow/heat swelters
most people say the only constant in life is
change,
but they never mention you.
you dance along the rivers and streams
a persistent ache in my side (you)
a constant source of hope in my heart (you)
but as I’ve grown, I’ve learned that
it is essential
to detach
release control
B r e a t h e
[it’s so funny how we forget to do that sometimes]
a new beginning this is indeed.
I’m starting to give you more credit,
more life,
more love.
because you, my friend
remain a constant in my life.
not running out, or
slipping away.
you are abundant,
moving with ease.
I am learning to trust
you.
