SPRINT & RELEASE PLANNING
Information technology is taking a scrum approach to the ongoing development of VICE’s global support portal. Feature requests, workflow optimizations, teams to onboard, solutions to add, and bug fixes will be added to the backlog for future release. Each backlog item will undergo a requirement gathering stage to determine value, complexity, and level of effort needed. Backlog items will then be organized into repeatable work cycles, called Sprints:
Work is prioritized by the product owner who will capture the needed requirement documentation.
Before each release, Process Owners and Subject-Matter- Experts (SMEs) conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to verify the solution is built or fixed as intended.
Release notes follow each Sprint release into Production.
Who: All VMG users can now request logins to various Archival Vendor accounts such as Getty, Associated Press, Shuttershock, Pond5 and others.
What: Service Category and Service Item to request access / logins to Archival Vendor accounts.
Where: VICE Support Service Catalog > Archival Category > Archival Requests.

Who: All employees and contingent workers can request access to Iconik
What: Iconik access is required by users in a range of media departments, and custom ACLs and access groups need to be provisioned out to end users as the system starts to go into wider production.
Where: VICE Support Service Catalog > Software Requests > Iconik
Why: Handle all requests for users needing access to various user groups in Iconik and cannot reasonably forward each request to the IT department.
Requirements: N/A
Who: All VMG users can request support for working with 3rd party vendor contracts at the initial stages of discovery.
What: Service Item for procurement support for existing contracts, support for RFP process for pre-approved purchases or yet-to-be approved purchases.
Where: VICE Support Service Catalog > Procurement > Sourcing Assistance Request Form
Why: VMG users are reaching out to and negotiating with 3rd party vendors without the assistance from the Procurement team. This request will give users a clear way to seek support on contracts and negotiations from the Procurement team.
