SPRINT & RELEASE PLANNING
Information technology is taking a scrum approach to the ongoing development of VICE’s global support portal. Feature requests, workflow optimizations, teams to onboard, solutions to add, and bug fixes will be added to the backlog for future release. Each backlog item will undergo a requirement gathering stage to determine value, complexity, and level of effort needed. Backlog items will then be organized into repeatable work cycles, called Sprints:
Work is prioritized by the product owner who will capture the needed requirement documentation.
Before each release, Process Owners and Subject-Matter- Experts (SMEs) conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to verify the solution is built or fixed as intended.
Release notes follow each Sprint release into Production.
Who: All employees and contingent workers can request access to the Wolftech application.
What: Wolftech is a production specific project management platform that allows for people and production resources to be tracked, allocated and included in production plans with ties into Finance systems.
Where: VICE Support Service Catalog > Software Requests > Wolftech Access
Why: Employee resources allocated to work managed in Wolftech will require a resource card and/or access to Wolftech. This form will facilitate the manual creation of resource cards and automate the creation of accounts based on the access requested as defined by the Wolftech product owner. Required approvals will vary based on requested access levels.
Requirements: N/A
Who: All employees and contingent workers that submit the Combined Contingent Worker Request will receive reminder emails notifying them that their contingent worker is soon expiring.
What: A reminder email will be sent out to all managers to extend the end dates of their contingent workers prior to their account deactivation.
Where: N/A - Requesters are sent reminder emails automatically 7 days and 1 day before their freelancer expires.
Why: All employees & contingent worker expiration dates will need to remain up-to-date to ensure no break or discontinuation of access to required systems.
Requirements: N/A
Additional Notes:
Combined Contingent Worker Approval - Selecting and End Date that is before the selected Start Date on the form will produce an error to avoid inconsistencies in submissions requiring IT agent intervention, subsequently expediting the overall process.
MYLA - The MYLA request found in the Digital Advertising Systems folder of the Service Catalog now has a list of Countries when a New User is requested.
Incident Submissions - Additional form fields such as, "What is your computer name" and "Where is your station located" will only be displayed when selecting the Global Production Services (MT) category.
