SPRINT & RELEASE PLANNING

Information technology is taking a scrum approach to the ongoing development of VICE’s global support portal. Feature requests, workflow optimizations, teams to onboard, solutions to add, and bug fixes will be added to the backlog for future release. Each backlog item will undergo a requirement gathering stage to determine value, complexity, and level of effort needed. Backlog items will then be organized into repeatable work cycles, called Sprints:

• Work is prioritized by the product owner who will capture the needed requirement documentation.

• Before each release, Process Owners and Subject-Matter- Experts (SMEs) conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to verify the solution is built or fixed as intended.

• Release notes follow each Sprint release into Production.

Box

• Who: All Vice employees can request access to Box.

• What: Box is the chosen corporate content management solution for VICE.

• Where: Global Support Portal "Service Catalog", "Software Request" tab.

• Why:

  • IT will continue deploying Box enterprise wide through the year 2020 - 2021 to create a stronger yet more flexible foundation for VICE employees. Our future state will remove the need for onsite file storage and alleviate location/office infrastructure constraints.

  • All corporate content currently residing on various on-premise file shares, google drives, and unsanctioned content repository solutions will all be consolidated / migrated to Box to prevent data leaks by enforcing classification-based security policies and leveraging how users access or share content externally from a folder and/or file level.

  • Each user will also be given a folder for personal use and management.

Wrike

• Who: All Vice employees can request access to Wrike.

• What: Wrike is an integrated, online project management solution that helps you manage projects, teams and LOBs.

• Where: Global Support Portal "Service Catalog", "Software Request" tab.

• Why:

  • Reduce project plan versioning disparities by leveraging Wrike's in real time collaborative feature set for more efficient, transparent and agile management.

  • Invite other team members or collaborators to project plans and/or single tasks with full control over the content they can view, edit, share, or delete.
