Yan Ma is a Chinese brush painting and calligraphy teacher with extensive experience working with students of different ages and different cultural backgrounds. She has taught and hosted Chinese painting and calligraphy workshops in the United States, the Netherlands, and Belgium, including at universities, cultural centres and events, and international schools. In recent years, she has led Chinese brush painting clubs and workshops for both primary and secondary students at UWCM. Yan Ma’s teaching connects traditional Chinese art with its historical roots, the unique combination of Chinese ink and Xuan paper, and cultural diversity across regions of China, encouraging students to explore creativity while building a deeper understanding of world culture integration.
