Introduction

Dear Reader,

After a long break, we are ready to introduce our very first issue of the school year. This edition’s theme is dedicated to the Ancient Romans, and the hardships they endured each and every day, similar to the struggles we have faced in 2020. This year has been especially hard on all of us, with classes being five hours long each day and procrastination growing rampant. You may be feeling a little hopeless, and that’s alright, we all are.

So grab a cup of musla, cozy up on a lectus and enjoy volume 47 issue 1 of Cuspidor.

This edition covers many spicy topics, such as literature--is it really so original? We also have the first ever comic, Double Dead, a tale of a person who has died and split into two, a zombie and a ghost. Captains, prefects, and the principal send out warm welcomes to all! For our resident weebs, you can head on over to page 18 for the fall 2020 seasonal anime recommendations. More seriously, we’ve got important articles related to nursing home deaths, uighurs in China, the world to come, and the mental health of our brave COVID workers. Enjoy reading zesty art-history articles? We’ve got that too. From sports to serial stories to nuclear pasta--we have it all!

So we say to you, dear reader, happy reading, and carpe diem.

The editors,

Daniel, Janet, Jessica, Joseph, Mohammed, and Wendy

p.s. we know this is a bit of an overused joke, but Sextus, obviously, est discipulus malus.
