Get ready to train like a first responder! Fire Science introduces students to the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and extinguish fires, perform rescues, and provide emergency medical care. Students will gain hands-on experience with firefighting tools and equipment while learning how to operate water supply systems, handle ladders, tie knots, ventilate buildings, and carry out rescue and extraction procedures.
Along the way, they will also practice basic emergency medical techniques, including patient assessment and emergency treatment, building the foundation of life-saving skills. Fire Science is the first step toward a future in firefighting, emergency medical services, or public safety, giving students the confidence and experience to prepare for advanced training and careers in the field.
Our Fire Science program gives students the chance to step into the gear of real firefighters and experience what it takes to serve on the front lines of emergency response. Through a series of exciting, hands-on labs, students build practical skills while developing the teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence needed in the field.
From suiting up in full gear and practicing search-and-rescue drills, to climbing ladders on training rigs, to water safety exercises in the pool, students experience a wide range of scenarios that mirror real-life situations. Each lab is designed to challenge them physically and mentally while reinforcing classroom instruction.
Under the guidance of their instructor, students not only learn fire science theory, they live it. By graduation, they are prepared with real-world knowledge, confidence, and a strong foundation for pursuing careers in firefighting, emergency services, or public safety.
