Get under the hood and take your skills to the next level! Auto Mechanics introduces students to the tools, techniques, and knowledge needed to inspect, maintain, and repair automobiles and light trucks powered by gasoline, electricity, or alternative fuels. Students will learn to troubleshoot and repair engines, electrical systems, integrated computer systems, fuel systems, brakes, steering and suspension, cooling systems, lubrication, exhaust and emission controls, and powertrains.
This course builds the foundation for a career in automotive repair, helping students develop the hands-on skills and technical knowledge needed to succeed in a high-demand, fast-paced industry.
Our Auto Mechanics program operates as a student led enterprise, giving students hands-on experience that reflects the real-world workplace. Students do more than practice on training equipment. Under the supervision of the instructor, they work with real customers and their vehicles. From writing shop tickets and diagnosing problems to performing maintenance and repair work, students gain valuable skills throughout the entire process.
This approach helps them build technical expertise, customer service skills, and professional responsibility, all while providing a meaningful service to the community.
