Dr. Shafi earned her doctorate in molecular and cellular biology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, Texas in the laboratory of Dr. Nancy Weigel. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the laboratory of Dr. Karen Knudsen. Dr. Shafi joined CPDR as a faculty member in the Fall of 2021.
Research Interests: Molecular & Translational Impact of Circadian Disruption in Cancer; Molecular & Cellular Mechanisms of Nuclear Receptor Signaling; Hormone-Dependent Cancers; Resistant Mechanisms in Disease Progression
