Interesting facts and hobbies:
I like to paint and draw or be outdoors in my spare time. I have never had a job I didn’t like. Before starting my research career, I spent many years as a photographer at an amusement park, and before that I volunteered as a tour guide at an Olympic Training Center.

Laila is a recent graduate of Howard University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.
Interesting facts and hobbies:
During her undergraduate studies, she trained in in geriatric research and phlebotomy. Outside the lab, Laila enjoys reading and solving puzzles.
