The Shafi and Su Labs did some team bonding with an escape room trip and welcomed our new team members Myungjoo (Shafi Lab) and Aditi (Su Lab). With some great collaboration, we escaped just in time! We celebrated our success with a team lunch at Torchy's, which came highly recommended by our favorite Texan PI.

The Shafi Lab enjoyed CPDR's Halloween potluck and celebration. Our mad scientist pumpkins (working on their own explant project) won us the victory in the pumpkin decorating contest, and our lab-themed decorations complete with ghostly versions of the lab members earned an honorable mention in the door decorating competition!

Shafi and Su lab post-bacs, Sumaira and Tom, are surpised with a going away celebration as they embark on their graduate school journeys. Sumaira is pursuing her PhD at Baylor College of Medicine and Tom is pursing his Masters at UC Berkley. We wish them the absolute best!

ORISE (Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education) summer student, Daniel Chin, presented his internship project at the ORISE Student Research Symposium at USU. His work entitled "targeting the CBP/p300 axis regulates DNA damage repair in lethal prostate cancer" has great interest from the USU faculty, trainees and summer interns.
