This document is intended to supplement the University Student Handbook on certain policies to be applied in the College. The purpose of this document is to further raisethe standards of the College towards becoming one of the top architecture schools in Asia.
This document shall be implemented by AY 2018-2019.
1. Debarment Any of the following shall be grounds for a student to not to be readmitted in the succeeding term:
- Except 5th year students, a student with accumulated 13 failing units or more during the whole program, regardless of whether such courses have been retaken. - A 1st year student who fails any Allied or Professional course or drops any course. - Except 5th year students, a student who fails a course on 3rd take. - A student, who cheats in any form for any school work/activity, plagiarizes or steals. - A 1st year student who fails to pass the cut-off grade as determined by the Dean’s Office. The cut-off grade shall be based on the general weighted average grade of the student for the Allied and Professional courses in relation to the performance of the batch. 2.Petition class shall not be allowed except for Design 10 course. 3.A student is not allowed to take any advance course beyond the courses being offered to his/her original batch. 4. A student shall be graded based on the output submitted and not on the effort exerted. Submission/Completion of all requirements for a course shall not guarantee a passing mark. 5. Submissions of any course work/activity shall be based on the deadlines set at the start of the work/activity. Submission must include the uploading of an electronic copy of the work/activity to the student portfolio as provided by the EdTech. A student is allowed to submit earlier than the deadline and thereafter start on the next course work/activity. A student who submits earlier than the deadline shall be allowed to edit and resubmit the work/activity if the student is given a failing grade. However, resubmission should be within the deadline and shall not guarantee a passing mark. A student who submits any course work/activity after the deadline shall receive a grade of 5.00 for the course work/activity. 6.A student who is sick during the deadline of submission of any school work/activity. required to email all his/her accomplishment to the faculty on the deadline day accompanied by a medical certificate. 7.Only on meritorious cases upon the written approval of the Dean shall a student be allowed to submit beyond the deadline. 8.Quizzes/Examinations shall be taken by the students based on the scheduled date. Only on exceptionally meritorious cases, upon the written approval of the Dean shall a student be allowed to take a quiz/examination on a different date. 9.Completion of incomplete grades shall be within the 1st week of classes in the succeeding term and shall be graded accordingly.If a student fails to complete the course requirements within the 1st week of classes, the student shall receive a grade of 5.00 for the course. Only on meritorious cases shall a student be allowed to complete beyond the deadline upon the written approval of the Dean. 10. The Architecture Midterm Aptitude Comprehensive Examination (AMACE) must be taken and passed by all incoming 4th year students. The AMACE shall be given twice every academic year: at the start of the first semester and second semester. The date shall be announced at least a month before the examination. Seventy (70%) percent shall be the passing grade. Failure to pass the AMACE shall bar the student from moving up to 5th year. 11.Shuffling of block sections shall be done yearly at the prerogative of the Dean’s Office. 12.A student member/officer of a University/College organization who fails any course shall be automatically dropped as a member/officer of the organization. 13.No irregular student shall be allowed to join any student organization. 14. *A student who has been suspended or penalized by community service by the SWDC shall no longer be entitled to receive any University/College award or be eligible to run for any position in any student organization. 15. All officers of all College student organizations must have at least a general weighted average grade of 2.00. 16. Parents are discouraged to accompany their child during enrollment. However, if the student for exceptional reason will not be able to enroll, proxy forms should be filled. 17. Students are required to wear the prescribed College Uniform with School Identification Card. and Good Grooming including the Haircut and Hair Color Policy of the College. - "Type A" Uniform to be worn during Special Events such as conferences, symposia, fora with Guest Speakers or other events as may be required by the Dean's Office. - "Type B" Uniform to be worn during Regular class days. - "Type C" Uniform to be worn during Regular class days from March-July. 18.Class Decorum - Students are required to stand up and acknowledge the entry of the faculty. - Faculty should always start/end the class with a short prayer. - All communication gadgets should be kept inside the bag and switched to silent mode. - Faculty and Student should always treat each other with professionalism.
