This type of citation is required for the larger information speech and the persuasive speech.
Find out the qualifications of the person.
What is the person’s profession?
Do they have special training?
Expertise?
Has the person’s work been used in other studies?
do not cite databases as sources; the article the database finds is the source
do not cite Google as the source (or any other search engine)
do not cite the library as the source
do not lump sources together at the end of the speech and say “all this came from...”
cite on the slide itself in an inconspicuous way rather than lump them all at the end of the slideshow
lumping them at the end like a works cited page will tempt you to conclude your speech by saying those are your sources and that is not a conclusion
do it in an inconspicuous way but it must be visible
