I do not need any type of explanation at this point. If this becomes a habit on speech-giving days, then we'll have a little chat.
This means if you leave school early, email me. Or when you sign-out, alert the office to SPECIFICALLY tell me you will not be in class.
If this is not done prior to your absence, the performance will earn 50% until a note is brought with a parental signature. See last heading below for what to put in the note.
If this is at the start of the day:
When your parents call to inform the CHS office, tell them to have the office specifically tell me you will be absent.
Or, your parent may email me if you are too sick to do that.
If this is not done prior to or on the day your absence, the performance will earn 50% until a note is brought. See last heading below for what to put in the note.
If you are leaving mid-day:
see items under the first heading on this page for what to do.
I know _____________ (put your name in there) missed on a speech-giving day.
a parent signature
This is all you need to have them do.
I do not want or need a detailed reason or explanation.
I just need to know that they know you missed on a speech-giving day.
This is a handwritten note that you deliver to me (not an email).
It is okay that you missed. Everyone misses once in awhile, but if a pattern emerges, we'll have a little chat.
Remember, this handwritten note is only necessary if this is all after the fact. Contact me yourself when you'll miss, and the note is not necessary.
