As a consequence of a series of colonization, Filipinos have developed a mentality of favoring the products of other countries over our own. Filipinos commonly buy imported or foreign goods because of the belief that their quality and effectiveness are superior to ours. Therefore, Filipinos frequently purchase international and imported goods believing that the quality is unrivaled and they have higher standards than us, resulting in a comparison of local and foreign goods. It will be hard for our products to reach the global scale if the locals themselves will continue to support and be proud of having foreign items rather than their own. The government plays an important role here. The need to invest in high-quality manufacturing is often disregarded which makes the local sector to be at stake.
