Colonial Mentality is the unfair treatment towards other states, race and also culture. This colonial mentality exists in Filipinos. Filipinos are seen as inferior to other races and Filipinos tend to use other races as their role model. Nowadays, most of the Filipinos imitate other cultures and languages and they look down on the people who do not act the same way. Like for instance in language, many people who laugh at other people just because they are not good in English or their grammar is not good, this shows that Filipinos promote and pay more attention to the language of other races. People judge them because of the standard that they created which is not right. Moreover, regarding how to deal with the colonial attitudes of Filipinos. In this era, people must embrace their own identity as well as their culture. We should not indulge ourselves in the system of colonial mentality. Instead, we must focus on what we have as a Filipino and continuously improve it. Because being a Filipino is a flex!
