Scientific collaboration in the area of biodiversity conservation and management.
The collaboration is for mutual benefit in the field of biodiversity conservation and management. In particular, it is to develop their collaboration through exploration of, inter alia, the following areas of mutual interest and concern: socio-economic research on the topic of wild meat hunting, trade, and consumption-related issues; community group, public sector and private sector awareness-raising; local and state capacity building and practical management undertakings. These activities would focus on, but not be limited to, investigating the supply chain of wild meat in priority sites in Gorontalo and North Sulawesi Provinces. The initial focus for joint working will be on the following:
Providing technical, logistical and administrative assistance/support for joint research in these areas, as appropriate;
Facilitating, where necessary and possible, the development of relationships between the Parties and relevant Public and Private sector organisations for the achievement of research and conservation objectives, both in Indonesia and abroad
Assigning relevant individuals to assist in the formulation, development, implementation, evaluation, liaison/coordination, and reporting of each mutually agreed research project or programme, or inter-related suite of activities (e.g. site-based, country-based or transboundary/project-based activity);
Facilitating the continued maintenance and development of existing collaborative research;
Identifying and developing such other research activities/projects and longer-term programs, as may be of mutual interest and concern;
