SDP 2
Poster Presentation
Students are required to present their final project to panels (faculty/industry) during the SDP 2 Poster Presentation Session at the end of the SDP 2 course.
Each project needs to be presented by a poster (SDP 2 Poster Template) that should cover the following criteria:
Background
Objectives
Materials & Methodology
Result & Discussion
Benefits/Achievement / Significant Contribution
Others (if any), e.g. i) publication, ii) marketability I commercialization I potential market, and iii) patent
Picture and acknowledgement
Size – (W) 2 ft x (H) 5 ft
Orientation – Portrait.
Please print the poster with ‘PIPE’ as shown in the figure below.
Please get the poster stand from the PIC, Mr Rezal before the poster set up day. You can return the poster stand after the event at the same location.
Students must print their own posters and submit the receipt to their supervisor for claim.
Students must set-up your poster and project items (hardware prototype/computer/etc.) one day before SDP 2 Poster Presentation.
Students should include project title, group number, group members, supervisors at the top of in their posters.
Students are required to present their posters to the appointed panels and answer their questions
Poster evaluations will be carried out in a group-based according to the assessment rubrics.
Presentation assessment will be online using Google Form based on the listed rubrics (link will be shared by the coordinator)
Students who fail to present their project poster are required to re-present their project to panels within one week after the first presentation after discussion with their supervisors and SDP Coordinator.

Project Demonstration
Students are required to demonstrate their projects to the SDP 2 evaluation panels. Video presentation for the project testing in the LAB or real environment also acceptable. All group members are required to fairly contribute to project demonstration/presentation. Panels may ask students individually to answer questions related to project demonstration/videos. Students are free to prepare their video demonstration with considering the evaluation timeline.

Project Technical Report
Project Technical Report is required to be submitted to the Supervisor in group at the end of SDP 2. The report should be written, structured and formatted as a research paper ( in the range of 6-12 pages (Double- Column) ) using the provided Project Technical Report Template that based on IEEE Proceedings template. It should summarize the entire thesis and should include the following headings:
Abstract
Introduction
Literature Review
Methodology
Results and Discussion
Conclusion
References

Project Final Report (Thesis)
Students are required to use UMP Thesis Template to prepare their SDP 2 Final Report (Thesis) individually. The thesis is an updated version of SDP 1 proposal by including Results Chapter and Conclusions Chapter. Students are expected to produce a thesis consists of five chapters with the following components
Title Page
Abstract (Bahasa Melayu & English)
Chapter 1 - Introduction. This chapter should contains the following items
Project background
Problem statement
Objectives
Research Scope
Thesis Organisation
Chapter 2 - Literature Review ( Must include a detailed background and related works)
Chapter 3 - Research Methodology (Must include methodology flowchart in addition to research activities such as design, fabrication, implementation, testing, ...etc.)
Chapter 4 - Results/Data Analysis and Findings Discussion
Chapter 5 - Conclusion and Recommendation.
List of References (Students are recommended to use reference indexing tool such as EndNote or Mendeley)
Appendixes (if any)
Thesis Submission
Students are required to write their thesis individually
There may be some common chapters/sub-chapters like Chapter 1 (Title, Background, Problem Statement, Objectives, Scope, ...etc.), but each student is free to write his/her own thesis.
Each student MUST submit the thesis draft to the Supervisor by the deadline at the end of SDP 2 course.
Supervisor should check thesis content, structure, format, similarity/plagiarism (MUST be less than 20%) and give feedback/comments to students.
Students must revise their thesis according to Supervisor comments and resubmit to the Supervisor.
Once the supervisor ensures that the student has done the required corrections, the student needs to get the Supervisor approval for hard binding using Form D.
Students are required to print three hardbound copies of their thesis with three softcopy on CDs to be submitted to the faculty by the due date at the end of SDP 2 course.
